How can filmmakers and TV producers come together to shift the dial on climate change communication, creating powerful stories that inspire action and celebrate impact?

Combating climate change is the biggest challenge of our time. How can feature filmmakers, TV producers and scientists share their expertise to transform their storytelling approach and communicate the crisis more effectively? This session, led by wildlife biologist and broadcaster Liz Bonnin, explores how collaboration and creativity can reshape climate storytelling to inspire tangible change. Drawing on projects like Our Changing Planet, Ocean with David AttenboroughSecrets of the Penguins and Lowland Kids, we'll discuss the successes of different approaches and explore how blending science, solutions and emotion, and interconnecting narratives of human stories, societal challenges and natural history, can shift perceptions and drive real-world change. By uniting efforts, natural history and documentary storytellers have the potential to bridge the gap between urgency, action, and a hopeful future.
