An Addict's Last Days
On the surface, Ben Rogers seemed to have everything – a bright boy with a good education and a loving family in the sleepy Staffordshire village of Alton. But in the Summer of 2006, Ben checked himself into hospital in a desperate final attempt to kick his 13 year addiction to heroin. He died the next day, leaving behind over 40 hours of intimate home movies and video diaries that he had been filming over the last two years of his life. The raw and unflinching footage reveals a man at war with himself, and a family struggling through the frustration and horror of watching their sensitive brother and son brought down by his addiction. Director Olly Lambert re-works Ben’s footage and talks to those he filmed in an attempt to finish what Ben began.
