Best Worst Movie
George Hardy is probably the nicest dentist in the world, who starred in probably the worst film ever made, Troll 2. a film which languished at the bottom of film review sites for almost 20 years before suddenly garnering a cult following. Director Michael Paul Stephenson also starred in Troll 2, and in this entertaining doc he tracks George and co-star Matthew as they tour with the film, receiving rapturous applause wherever they go. The film is so bad, its good. But it’s the infectious character of George Hardy and Troll 2’s director Claudio Fragrasso that hold you tight to this hilarious story of fame gone wrong. They are a perfect duo: the lovely dentist and the very serious director, who is at first delighted by the film’s sudden popularity, but seemed slightly gutted the audiences didn’t get its underlying message that vegetarians are evil.
"A hilarious and a poignant celebration... focuses on the human trail that films leave in their wake. Highly recommended!" – Scott Macaulay, Filmmaker Magazine
