For Rachel Wotton, business means pleasure. With prostitution legal in Australia, she works proudly in the open as a sex worker who is very happy with her chosen field. Articulate, outspoken and compassionate, she is a far cry from our stereotyped images of prostitutes. And to some of Australia’s most marginalised men, she is a saviour. Half of Rachel’s clients are people with disabilities, who blossom under her loving touch. An engineer by trade, John’s deteriorating MS has severely curtailed his independence, and left him in a chin controlled wheelchair. But a night with Rachel makes him feel like a man again. It’s a rare pleasure he can’t afford very often: “I have to remember very carefully the last time,” he smiles ruefully. This funny and moving film is at times revelatory in its insights into sexuality, sex work and the disabled.
