No, but it's the only way to guarantee entry to some events. Most events in the Public Programme (film screenings and talks) are ticketed, and Industry Pass Holders can reserve tickets for these events 48 hours in advance.
However, you do not always need to have a ticket in advance. If the event is not sold out just show your Pass at the door and you will be issued a ticket instantly.
If an event is sold out, you can still join a standby queue at the venue and very often will be able to access the event this way.
Some Industry only events (such as Industry Socials) are not ticketed and entry is on a first come first served basis.
Except for Opening Night, Industry tickets are available from 48 hours before the start of each event. For example, if an event starts at 10am on 19 June, Industry tickets will be available from 10am on 17 June.
Yes, Industry tickets for Opening Night are available now.
Click here to go to the booking page for Opening Night at the Crucible: Still Pushing Pineapples. You will need to be logged in to your Tickets account to book a ticket.
This is an Industry only event and tickets are available on a first come first served basis.
Log in to the ticketing environment by clicking the Tickets button at the top of this web page, or in the Sheffield DocFest app, with the same email you used to register for your Industry Pass.
An account will have been created for you as part of the registration process, and you should have received an email from our ticketing partner, Eventive, confirming this.
After logging in to your account, tickets can be selected by clicking the 'BOOK TICKETS' button on event pages or the schedule view on the festival website and ticketing environment, or on the Sheffield DocFest app. Tickets are added to your account and you just present your pass for scanning at the door of the event.
Industry Pass Holder tickets are released 48 hours before each event (except for Opening Night).

You can collect your pass from the Industry Delegate Centre at The Workstation, which is just a short walk from the train station. It also hosts our Press Desk, Hospitality Services, cloakroom and lost property, and our Mental Health & Wellbeing drop in service.
Make sure to leave plenty of time between picking up your pass and your first event as queues can be long on the opening days. You will need your Industry Pass to access events at the festival. Please wear it at all times.
Opening times: Tue 17 Jun 5pm–7pm / Wed 18 – Mon 23 Jun 9am–7pm
The Workstation, 15 Paternoster Row, S1 2BX
It can take up to 24 hours from registering for your accreditation to be processed, a Tickets (Eventive) account to be created, and your physical Pass to be printed. Please register early to be sure your Pass will be ready for collection in time for the first event you want to attend.
