His documentary film work also forms part of a new multi-artist exhibition: A Peculiar Form of Fiction.

A Peculiar Form of Fiction draws together works from the 1970s onwards by artists who have used the techniques and tropes of documentary in their work because of its directness, impact and its unstable position in relation to truth. The exhibition, which takes place at the city’s S1 Artspace and Site Gallery, includes key works by Phil Collins, Duncan Campbell, John Smith, Hito Steyerl, and Gillian Wearing and brings together a selection of work by Jeremy Deller headlining with Battle of Orgreave (2001) a re-enactment of the confrontation between striking miners and the police in the coking plant Orgreave, which has particular pertinence to Sheffield’s industrial history.
