Submit a Session Idea
Doc/Fest has always been a festival owned by the documentary community with dozens of people donating their time to produce, moderate and speak on sessions.
We welcome ideas that you think are important to be discussed. If you have an idea for a session you would like to produce at the festival - it can be craft-based, case studies, debates or masterclasses.
Please submit your ideas online using our form below.
The deadline for session submissions is 8 July 2009
We will contact you by end of July if your session idea has been selected.
If your idea is selected, you will produce the session, providing an opportunity to get involved with leading people in the industry and be a valuable part of Doc/Fest.
How to be a Session Producer
If your session is selected, duties will include:
- Confirming your session chair and speakers
- Collating photos and biographies for your speakers
- Writing a session description and title for your session
- Ensuring your speakers are registered delegates so they are included on the delegate list and in the catalogue
- Collecting technical requirements from your speakers for their presentations and liaising with the Doc/Fest production team
- Collecting release forms for your speakers
- Putting speakers in contact with each other, putting together a running order, coordinating clips/clip reel, hosting speakers on the day
Benefits for a Session Producer:
We appreciate the time and energy each session producer donates to the festival. Doc/Fest offers all session producers a discounted registration pass.
All session chairs and speakers will be profiled in the festival catalogue with a photograph and a biography.
