Submit a Session Idea
For 2012, the Industry Conference at Sheffield Doc/Fest is once again being produced in partnership with Documentary Campus. We are delighted to team up with Documentary Campus to deliver this sessions programme alongside our film screenings programme and the marketplace activity.
Every year we also work with people in the documentary and digital media industry to plan our sessions in Sheffield. This involves a call for session ideas through our website, one-on-one meetings as well as the festival advisory committee meeting throughout the year. Engaging so many great minds from the industry helps Sheffield deliver fantastic sessions.
The call for Session Ideas for the 2012 festival is now open. Deadline is Thursday 9 February, 5pm.
Submit your ideas to get a chance to contribute to the festival programme! We welcome ideas that you think are important to be discussed and are looking for innovative ideas on any subject matter. If you have an idea for a session you would like to produce at the Festival - it can be craft-based, case studies, a hot topic debate, masterclasses and more.
If your idea is selected, you will produce the session, providing an opportunity to get involved with leading people in the industry and make a valuable contribution to Doc/Fest. We will contact you by mid February 2012 if your session is selected.

How to be a Session Producer
If your session is selected, duties will include:
- Confirming your session chair and speakers
- Collating photos and biographies for your speakers
- Writing a session description and title for your session
- Ensuring your speakers are registered delegates so they are included on the delegate list and in the catalogue
- Collecting technical requirements from your speakers for their presentations and liaising with the Doc/Fest production team
- Collecting release forms for your speakers
- Putting speakers in contact with each other, putting together a running order, coordinating clips/clip reel, hosting speakers on the day
