Videotheque
The Videotheque is a fully digitised library of films including all films in Doc/Fest’s official programme as well as a specially curated selection of the year’s best documentaries and submissions. Individual booths with monitors enable registered delegates to watch films privately. It is open for the duration of Doc/Fest (Wednesday to Sunday) at the Delegate Centre in the Workstation, from 9am to 7pm Wednesday to Saturday, and 9am to 5pm on Sunday. Registered delegates must book time to view a film during these hours. You will be asked to hand in your delegate badge before you view, in exchange for a headset. The badge will be returned when headset is handed back at the desk.
Films can be booked on a daily basis and screening time can be booked in advance for that day. Owing to limited space, delegates may not book for more than two hours per day. Please note that if you are late your slot may be reallocated. Multiple headsets are available for some monitors, allowing two or more people to view the same film together. Please specify the number of headsets required when you book.
A full catalogue of docs available to view can be found at the Videotheque desk and a PDF of the Videotheque catalogue will be available for delegates to download from the website during the week of the festival. Please try not to print this catalogue out if possible - there will be copies to view in the Videotheque, or you can use your laptop to view it.
Sheffield Doc/Fest annually presents the East Silver Caravan - a special selection of documentaries from the East Silver video library which is presented at various international film festivals and markets.
If your film is selected for the official festival programme, it is automatically included in the Videotheque. We also had 75 titles submitted to the programming team included in the 2009 Videotheque.
