Online Videotheque
To view all films from the videotheque, click here - if you need your login details, please email us
The Videotheque is a fully digitised library of films that allows TV Buyers, Distributors, Sales Agents, Festival Programmers, other Decision Makers and Doc/Fest Delegates to watch the doc of their choice on demand. You'll never need to miss a film again. It includes all films in Doc/Fest’s official programme as well as a specially curated selection of the year’s best films from our submission pool. On large iMacs in high quality video, delegates can book a slot to watch films privately at a time of their choosing, contact filmmakers and leave comments.
The Videotheque is open for the duration of Doc/Fest (Wednesday to Sunday) at the Delegate Centre in the Workstation, from 9am to 7pm Wednesday to Saturday, and 9am to 5pm on Sunday.
The Videotheque is built and maintained by Large Blue
Is it available after the festival? The online Videotheque - New for 2011
For the first time in 2011, the Videotheque will be available online here after the festival for 3 months - so if you don't have time to catch the films you want to see in Sheffield, or if you've heard some great buzz about a film post-festival, this is your chance to catch up! This service is only available for registered Doc/Fest delegates, who can pick up their login details from the Videotheque Desk in the Delegate Centre. The Online videotheque will be available from the opening day of the festival on Wednesday June 8th. To visit, click here
What films are in Videotheque?
A full catalogue of docs available to view can be found at the Videotheque desk and a PDF of the Videotheque catalogue will be available for delegates to download from the website during the week of the festival. Please try not to print this catalogue out if possible - there will be copies to view in the Videotheque, or you can use your laptop to view it.
Sheffield Doc/Fest annually presents the East Silver Caravan - a special selection of documentaries from the East Silver video library which is presented at various international film festivals and markets. If your film is selected for the official festival programme, it is automatically included in the Videotheque. We also had 75 titles submitted to the programming team included in the 2010 Videotheque.
How do I book a slot?
Registered delegates must book time to view a film during the opening hours listed above. Films can be booked on a daily basis and screening time for a desired slot can be booked the day before, or the day of, the desired day. Owing to limited space, delegates may not book for more than two hours per day and priority will be given to Decision-Makers.
You will be asked to hand in your delegate badge before you view, in exchange for a headset. The badge will be returned when the headset is handed back at the desk. Please note that if you are late your slot may be reallocated. It is not possible to book slots in advance of the festival. Multiple headsets are available for some monitors, allowing two or more people to view the same film together. Please specify the number of headsets required when you book.
