The Wellcome Trust Pitch

The Wellcome Trust Broadcast Development Awards Pitch returned to Sheffield Doc/Fest for a second year in 2009, and will return in 2010. We invited filmmakers to come to Sheffield and pitch their science documentary idea to the Wellcome Trust for a £10k prize

Filmmakers were invited to apply for the chance to pitch an idea about health, biology or medicine to an expert panel. The pitch was open to innovative documentary, game and online projects that could engage large audiences with the impact of biomedical science on our lives and on society.

In 2010, this pitch will return, so watch this space for updates on when the call for entries will launch. Awards of up to £10,000 are available and there could be more than one winner! The prize will enable the pitched ideas to be developed into high impact, well-researched proposals to help secure a UK broadcast platform and production funding. The pitch and the announcement of the awards takes place as part of the Science at Sheffield programme.
