Sheffield Doc/Fest is thrilled to announce that Patrick Hurley has been appointed as Head of Marketplace.
Patrick joins Doc/Fest from Dogwoof where he is currently Distribution Manager. Over the past five years he has worked closely with filmmakers, producers and partners on a diverse slate of over 100 documentary releases including The Act of Killing, Blackfish, Cartel Land, Concerning Violence, The Confession, Dior and I, Dreamcatcher, Leviathan, The Look of Silence, Speed Sisters, Ken Loach’s The Spirit of ‘45 and Michael Moore’s Where to Invade Next.
Prior to joining the film industry Patrick worked in education as a Head Tutor in the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney and has subsequently been involved in numerous training and mentoring programmes for documentary filmmakers and producers.
Patrick Hurley will join Doc/Fest at the start of January 2017, and will attend the Doc/Fest & Dogwoof Party at IDFA on 22 November with Liz McIntyre and the Doc/Fest team.
