The 2017 edition of the Alternate Realities programme at Sheffield Doc/Fest will be curated and presented by outstanding creative talents individually recognised for their work in digital, immersive technology.
Rated by 99% industry delegates as good or outstanding in 2016, the Alternate Realities 2017 programme (Fri 9 June to Wed 14 June) will be curated by Dan Tucker, a digital creative who has been making leading factual content for television and digital for 15 years and credits include award-winning projects the interactive drama Our World War and the i-Doc Footballers United. Dan also presented the world premiere of Easter Rising: Voice of a Rebel virtual reality project at Doc/Fest ‘16.
The Alternate Realities Summit (Sun 11 June) will be hosted by May Abdalla and Amy Rose of Anagram, an award-winning creative collective who make immersive experiences that bring together innovative digital interaction and stories told from real life. Anagram were winners of the Tribeca Storyscapes 2015 prize, picked as one of the Digital Dozen by Columbia University for Door Into The Dark, and were selected as one of the Creative 50 for 2016 by Creative England.
Dan Tucker will join Doc/Fest in February 2017.
Alternate Realities exhibitions will take place at Sheffield Doc/Fest throughout the festival between 9-14 June 2017.
Alternate Realities Summit will take place on Sunday, 11 June 2017.
