Sheffield Doc/Fest welcomes festival goers from all over the world; international perspectives and inspirations are vital to us. We are delighted to welcome internationally-based industry experts to the Doc/Fest team to enhance our global outlook.

Andrea Horakh

Film Programme Consultant, Berlin

Andrea is part of the Films team, led by Luke W Moody, Director of Film Programming. Berlin-based Andrea works as an arts producer, where her work includes editing the Deutsche Welle cinema magazine. She also works as a reporter, including covering Berlinale and DOK Leipzig festivals for Deutsche Welle, and has been a tutor for the Documentary Campus training programme in Berlin.  As a Doc/Fest representative for the Films team in Germany, Andrea will be key to the team's European outreach.

Says Andrea: “I am delighted to support Director of Film Programming Luke Moody in his quest to create a world leading film programme for Doc/Fest. Come and say hello next time you are in Berlin – and see you in Sheffield in June!”

Says Luke: “At the geographical cross-roads between Western and Eastern Europe, Berlin continues to be a hotbed for artists, digital creatives and film production. We are thrilled to have Andrea join us as one of our boots on the ground consultants, expanding our global connections and knowledge of the international scene. We're keen to continue to welcome, nurture and see new work from emerging and established directors across the whole spectrum of non-fiction filmmaking from Germany, Europe and around the world.”

Film submissions are open until 23 February 2017.
