Building on a long tradition of celebrating work by cross-discipline creative artists, Sheffield Doc/Fest is delighted to announce a Special Work-in-Progress Preview of 8 Minutes by Alexander Whitley Dance Company at this year’s festival, ahead of the World Premiere at Sadler's Wells later in June.
The Special Preview of 8 Minutes allows privileged access to Alexander Whitley’s work-in-progress ahead of its Sadler’s Wells, London World Premiere. This multi-media event draws inspiration from the images and data of solar science research to explore the spectacular forces at work in the universe and illuminate our relationship with the star that gives us life. 8 Minutes features a stunning installation of high-definition imagery from BAFTA award-winning visual artist Tal Rosner, and a specially created score by the electroacoustic music innovator Daniel Wohl. This full-length performance is set to ignite our imaginations through dance, film and music.
Tickets are included with the Festival Pass subject to availability. Public tickets are available now for £12.00/£10.00 concessions.
There will be a 'Making of 8 Minutes' talk with the creative team, including; Alexander Whitley, Tal Rosnar, Hugh Mortimer and Ravi Kapur, in the Doc/Fest Exchange on Tudor Square at 12:00 on Monday 12 June.
