Our Festival Director, Cíntia Gil is discussing her artistic vision and ideas for the 2020 programme alongside Vanja Kaludjercic, who was newly appointed Festival Director of International Film Festival Rotterdam.

At one of the largest film festivals in the world,  we are extremely proud to be seeing several Doc/Fest Alumni and MeetMarket projects being presented within Berlinale’s 2020 programme. 

MEETMARKET PROJECT 2018

Garage People,  (dir: Natalija Yefimkina, prod: Andrea Schütte, Dirk Decker) is having its World Premiere at Berlinale in the Perspecktive Deutsches Kino strand.

DOC/FEST ALUMNI

Victor Kossakovsky’s documentary, Gunda will have its World Premiere in the Encounters strand. Previously Kossakovsky pitched Aquarela in Doc/Fest’s 2013 MeetMarket.

Rubika Shah’s White Riot is having its International Premiere, as part of the Generation 14Plus strand. Prior to its expansion, White Riot was previously a short film presented in the Doc/Fest 2017 short programme.

Jonna Kina’s Akiya will have its World Premiere in the Forum Expanded strand. Kina’s Arrangement for a Scene was presented in the Doc/Fest 2017 short programme.

Kazuhiro Soda’s Seishin 0 is having its European Premiere in the Forum strand, having previously brought his The Big House to the Doc/Fest 2019 film programme.
