Bruni Burres has been working at the intersection between human rights and arts and culture as a curator, producer, and consultant for the past 20 years. She is currently a Senior Consultant for the Sundance Institute’s Documentary Program, a mentor and media expert with Greenhouse Film Centre and a freelance film producer and media consultant. From 1991 to 2008 Bruni was the director of the Human Rights Watch Film Festival, which she also co-founded. In 2011, in partnership with the International Center for Transitional Justice, Bruni produced the documentary La Toma (The Siege), which explores the lasting cultural and political impact of the 1985 siege of the Palace of Justice in Colombia.
