A keen anecdotalist, the 105-year-old artist Tyrus Wong relays the cheeky details about his first date with his late wife, Ruth. Wong is a painter, but also had a brief stint at Disney, where he created the iconic impressionistic look for Bambi. Tyrus is as much a story about the survivalist mentality of 20th century Chinese Americans as it is about the man himself.
