Chrissie began her career as a professional film and video maker in 1983 with the all-women production company, Sheffield Film Co-op and has worked with a number of other independent production companies in a variety of roles including producer, director, researcher, production manager and camerawoman. Ten of her documentaries on political and social issues have been shown on Channel 4 or BBC2 and many have been distributed internationally. Chrissie was a founding member of the board of Sheffield DocFest and is active in organisations which support and promote new film makers in the Yorkshire region. Chrissie also taught media production on BA and MA courses at Sheffield Hallam University specialising in producing, production management and documentary development. Her main interests lie in using film and video to communicate ideas and points of view which are under represented in the mainstream media, particuarly those of women.
