Childcare at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2019

Sheffield Doc/Fest offers unprecedented opportunities to pitch, network, screen and collaborate. To help everyone to be able to participate equally, we have partnered with a local childcare provider so you can attend the Festival and have your children close, while the childcare comes to your accommodation. By increasing accessibility for all delegates, Doc/Fest aims to provide a level playing field for creativity and collaboration.

Child Friendly Screenings at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2019

Monday 10 June | 11:00
Showroom Cinema

Tickets available

Hanna Björk Valsdottir, Elin Hansdottir, Anna Run Tryggvadottir | 2019 | Iceland | 72 mins

Believing that we all learn to swim while in the womb. Icelandic pioneer Snorri Magnusson has been patiently teaching babies to float and paddle for twenty-five years. This buoyant, joyful portrait follows the sensitive Snorri as he lovingly instructs his smiling infant students to dive, sing and even stand upright on his palm.

Every Monday at 11:00, the Showroom screens a film for parents and babies under one-year-old. Parents can enjoy our latest releases without having to find a babysitter!

Come along and watch a film in a comfortable atmosphere, with appropriate sound levels and a dedicated storage area for your pushchairs. After the screening, you can relax with a complimentary hot drink in the bar and socialise with other parents and guardians.

To sign up just download and complete the form and bring it along to box office with your child’s Birth Certificate. We also have paper copies available at the Box Office.

Please note: A Birth Certificate must be provided as proof of the baby's age in order to register for Kino Bambino screenings. These screenings are designed only for parents and guardians and their babies under one year old, and only those with a Kino Bambino membership card will be admitted (see terms and conditions.)
