Film and Alternate Realities submissions are now closed.
Each year we are excited to open submissions for the Sheffield Doc/Fest Film and Alternate Realities programmes, to discover the best new works in documentary and non-fiction storytelling globally. The Sheffield Doc/Fest programme offers filmmakers and creators an essential platform to launch their work at one of the world’s leading film festivals.
We champion new and authentic voices, presenting plural visions of the world present and past, and aspire to present a programme of equality in representation both on screen and behind the camera. Sheffield Doc/Fest is open to all sectors of film and media production, all lengths, and all formats.
Each year the Festival exhibits over 200 international films. Sheffield Doc/Fest looks to challenge, inspire and entertain audiences through a carefully curated programme that reflects new frontiers of world events, personal narratives and artful forms of non-fiction.
We look forward to discovering your work. Please follow our website and social media for 2020 submissions.
We are pleased to offer discounts for student group submissions, filmmakers and creators aged 25 and under, or from DAC listed countries.
