This VR project allows you to roam through Australia’s ancient Daintree rainforest as it simulates 100 year of climate change impact.
Gondwana VR is home to a vibrant ecosystem - an awe-inspiring land of ancient trees, rare animals and precious flora. But the forest is degrading. During the course of Sheffield DocFest, this virtual world is programmed to decline in line with real-world climate data projections. The only solution is people – the more time an audience spends in Gondwana, the more resilient the forest becomes. Both resplendent and unsettling, this is a quiet meditation on time, change and climate action in an irreplaceable environment.
