Shot mostly by its protagonist over the course of ten years, this is an intimate and devastating portrait of one man’s struggle with methamphetamine addiction.
Alan, a 43-year-old French man living in Barcelona, has been struggling with addiction for the last 12 years. We see the loops, repetitions, triumphs, frustrations, and regressions of his addiction, and this film masterfully slides us into a similar rhythm. Cruising hook-up apps, searching for a dealer, getting back on track at the gym, and trying to hold down a new job; we are offered an intimate glimpse into 10 years of Alan’s struggle. Filmed primarily by the protagonist, in dialogue with the film’s director, this is a rare and compassionate portrait of addiction.

Content Guidance: Film contains scenes with unsafe sex and drugs use.

The cinema screenings of Good Intentions will be preceded by the film The Joys and Sorrows of Young Yuguo.
