A young man inherits his grandmother’s house and, with the encouragement of his girlfriend, turns it into a Black socialist collective where community forms the basis of family. Based partly on his own time in a Black liberationist group, Ephraim Asili references the legacies of the MOVE Organisation and the Black Arts Movement with humour and reverence.
This film has been nominated for the Youth Jury Award.
The Inheritance will be followed by a live online Q&A with Ephraim Asili which will be live-streamed from the cinema to Selects.
