Ffilm Cymru Wales is the development agency for Welsh film, dedicated to advancing and sustaining a strong film industry for Wales. We provide funding and training to emerging and established Welsh filmmakers, offer exciting cinematic experiences to audiences across Wales, engage people of all ages and abilities in creative learning, and develop new skills and career paths for people through a range of training programmes.

Alice McKee | Director/Producer

Alice directs and produces docs for TV and radio, and is developing her first cinematic short. She worked extensively on critically acclaimed docs with ie ie productions and now co-ordinates BBC Wales’ Ffolio film scheme.

What is your favourite documentary of all time? Casting JonBenet

What film/s are you most looking forward to at this year's Sheffield DocFest? All Light Everywhere, Uprising, From the 84 Days, Saudade, Men Who Sing.

What do you consider is the best documentary from your nation or region? I'm a Londoner living in Wales, so: Fish Story!

Glen Biseker | Director, Producer, Editor

Over 10 years experience in short film, radio and animation production, post production. Have been a regular at Winding Snake since 2011, in various roles including production manager, animator, producer and editor.

What is your favourite documentary of all time? The Future is Unwritten

What film/s are you most looking forward to at this year's Sheffield DocFest? Lydia Lunch: The War Is Never Over / BLONDIE: VIVIR EN LA HABANA.

What do you consider is the best documentary from your nation or region? Android in La La Land

Joseff Morgan | Producer/Director

I'm Joseff, I'm a Welsh documentary filmmaker with a focus on exploring social issues through character-driven stories. I'm inspired by British realism, emo music and the Safdie brothers.

What is your favourite documentary of all time? Zidane: a 21st century portrait

What film/s are you most looking forward to at this year's Sheffield DocFest? Lift Like a Girl, Men Who Sing, Uprising.

What do you consider is the best documentary from your nation or region? Swansea Love Story

Jude Lister | Development Executive

I lead on the delivery of BFI NETWORK Wales talent initiatives at Ffilm Cymru Wales.

Lowri Roberts | Director & Producer

I’m a filmmaker from North Wales. My film, Girl, premiered at BFI LFF and won the BAFTA Cymru for Best Short Film. I’ve made a couple of films with C4 Random Acts and BBC Arts and am now working as a producer at Rapt.

What is your favourite documentary of all time? Senna or The Wolfpack (that's tough!)

What film/s are you most looking forward to at this year's Sheffield DocFest? The Return

What do you consider is the best documentary from your nation or region? I've never seen any documentaries about North Wales (where I'm from) unless they're nature docs. So I would love to see more from there. Best documentary from the UK though... Evelyn is an incredible piece of work.

Rees Dale | Director, Producer & Editor 

After over 15 years as an editor & vex artist, I have moved into directing & after some shorts am in development of my first feature, Aazadi (Freedom). Please ask me about it!

What is your favourite documentary of all time? OJ: Made in America (and countless more)

What film/s are you most looking forward to at this year's Sheffield DocFest? Do I have to pick just one? I can't.

What do you consider is the best documentary from your nation or region? Too many to pick just one however I sincerely hope I am making one of them!

Rosemary Baker | Producer Director

Rosemary Baker is an award-winning shooting PD & development producer in Cardiff. Her Edinburgh TV Award-winning film Lesbian was released on All4 in 2021, and she is currently making her debut doc for Channel 4.

What is your favourite documentary of all time? Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain.

What film/s are you most looking forward to at this year's Sheffield DocFest? Uprising, When We Were Bullies, I Get Knocked Down, Microcosmos.

What do you consider is the best documentary from your nation or region? Rockfield: The Studio on the Farm.

Steffan Roe Griffiths | Director

Inspired by living in Japan, Steffan decided to focus on filmmaking as a way to explore cultures. His recent documentaries are about skateboarders and their lives in Cuba, Japan, Perú and the US.
