Pati's world turns upside down when a stolen laptop results in blackmail, sending her spiralling into the world where anyone’s privacy can be hijacked.

It begins with the theft of her laptop. Hackers in possession of it blackmail Pati, threatening to email three intimate images of her if she doesn’t pay them. Engaged in an insidious game of cat-and-mouse, the up-and-coming film producer initially approaches the authorities, but they are not only woefully incapable of helping her, the interactions with them carry shaming connotations. Desperate, Pati decides to embark on her own investigation. And it’s not long before she discovers she’s not alone in her predicament. With My Sexortion Diary, a film that balances righteous outrage and an investigation that bears the trappings of a nail-biting thriller, Patricia Franquesa highlights an increasingly common crime and a throws a spotlight on a culture that fails in almost every way to grapple with it.

Content Guidance: Film contains discussions about sexual harassment.
