***APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED***
Banijay UK is proud to support emerging talent across the television industry and is delighted to offer 35 emerging creatives a bursary to attend Sheffield DocFest 23-28 June.
This initiative aims to remove barriers to entry, making the festival more affordable and accessible for emerging talent who may not otherwise be able to get involved.
We welcome applications from UK-based emerging filmmakers, producers and production crew aged 18-30 who are not in full time employment, and will prioritise individuals from under-represented backgrounds, including but not limited to those who are Deaf, disabled, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ and from lower socio economic and/or ethnically diverse backgrounds.
Who can apply?
Emerging talent applicants will have less than 3 credits in an assistant level or equivalent role on a production and have not yet made a long form or feature length documentary.
What will you receive?
Successful applicants will receive:
- A complimentary full festival industry pass, granting access to the full festival programme of films, exhibitions, talks, panels, industry sessions and live pitches, networking events and parties
- A contribution of £100 towards travel and accommodation (offered as a reimbursement)
- A virtual pre-festival briefing led by a Sheffield DocFest Senior Manager, giving an overview of the festival programme and information about key new talent initiatives
