1341 Framim Mehamatzlema Shel Micha Bar-Am
Book Tickets
Israeli photographer Micha Bar-Am recalls his journey from Berlin to Palestine, the birth of the state of Israel and its subsequent history in this compelling film.
At the age of 91, Micha has started to lose his memory. Once a member of Magnum photo agency, the images he recorded are now an essential tool in his reminiscence of the past. Sat with his wife, he describes to director Ran Tal the events surrounding his work, the details of which dominate this film. The photographs are also a foundation upon which his fractured recollections grapple with the meaning of what he witnessed. Despite the psychological toll his work had on his personal life, Bar-Am’s vast library of images are an essential historical and cultural artefact.
