A playful journey through the early days of the punk scene in Australia, as told by former band members and fans.
Punk arrived in Australia like an atom bomb, challenging the dullness of anodyne pop and sticking two fingers up to the stuffy conservatism of the country’s cultural, political and moral elite. The establishment didn’t know how to react at first. By the time it did, no matter what bullying tactics were used to re-establish order, society was already in the throes of change. Combining a wealth of archive and concert footage with contemporary interviews, Jennifer Ross’ film not only highlights the importance of punk in the 1980s, it’s also a reminder of how important such movements remain today.
