Three women’s experiences of hormonal birth control are weaved into one collective piece, exploring the radical effects that hormones have on the brain and body.

At a young age, many women begin to take hormonal birth control. Although their benefits are widely discussed, we rarely hear about the side effects. In this unique hybrid film, a dancer embodies the voices of three women who share the effects they experienced, from loss of libido and energy to profound changes in their mood, stress response and perceptions of self-image.

This film will screen as part of the programme Shorts: (Re)building Worlds.
