Kubo Walks The City
Book Tickets
Follow the footsteps of Kubo, a Korean urban flaneur, through an exquisitely illustrated three dimensional 1930s Seoul.
Nearly 100 years ago, the Korean modernist writer Taewon invented the character Kubo – a troubled writer trying to escape the worries from his mother and gain inspiration through his wanderings, drowning his loneliness in the crowds. In this virtual reality piece, you are invited to act the flaneur, strolling the streets, cafes and streetcars of Seoul to witness the shortcomings of a still anachronistic Korean society emerging from poverty, whilst facing Japanese occupation and forthcoming modernity.
