Early morning in the French capital. A car comes speeding out of a tunnel. There’s a moment’s lapse before we hear the engine roar; then it hits us. Driving himself, with a camera attached to his souped-up Mercedes, the filmmaker takes advantage of a lull in traffic to race along boulevards and through every red light. There are no effects here, just a single, hair-raising phantom shot.
