What's On When at Sheffield DocFest 2022

What's On When

Sheffield DocFest returns for it's 29th edition between 23-28 June. Use the graphic above to find out what's happening, when.

The full programme will be announced on Tuesday 31 May.

This year, we're in full swing. The Film Programme includes daily film premieres alongside our previously announced focus on Ukraine, Password: Palianytsia; and a programme curated by our award-winning Guest Curator Asif Kapadia, A Documentary Journey with Asif Kapadia. Brett Morgen's Moonage Daydream opens this year's festival, the film presents a genre-defying immersion into the art and sounds of David Bowie.

Tuesday's announcement includes our Alternate Realities programme, which showcases innovative non-fiction and immersive documentary in all forms. On Sunday 26 June, we look forward to the return of the Alternate Realities Summit. You will also find out who's arriving in Sheffield for this year's in-person discussions. Our Talks programme of in-conversations and Q&As is always a festival must.

The Industry programme is the space within the festival for supporting the creation of new work, and discussing together the ways in which new work is made. We have an exciting schedule of Industry sessions and networking events planned, and of course, parties.

If you work in the industry, the best way to connect with the festival is through our Industry Pass. Passes are available to filmmakers, artists, freelancers and members of the film, digital art and related communities, in the UK and internationally. The Industry Pass gives you full access to the festival, including film screenings, exhibitions, live events, talks, panels, industry sessions and live pitches, networking events and parties.
